Kura Sushi USA Opens First New England Restaurant at Watertown’s Arsenal Yards

Kura Sushi Brings Revolving Sushi Bar & Fresh Japanese Cuisine To Watertown’s East End

Watertown, Mass. (March 21, 2022) – Arsenal Yards proudly announced today that Kura Sushi USA, Inc., a technology-enabled Japanese restaurant concept known for its revolving sushi bars, opened their first New England restaurant at Arsenal Yards, the thriving new neighborhood located along the Charles River in Watertown, Massachusetts. Established in the United States in 2008, the 37th Kura Revolving Sushi Bar location at 101 Bond Square, Watertown, MA 02472 brings the freshest sushi and most authentic Japanese cuisine to the Greater Boston community.

With a focus on premium ingredients and a distinctive dining experience, Kura Sushi adheres to the Japanese virtue and philosophy of serving healthy and natural meals in a unique setting. Since the first restaurant opening in Japan in 1977, the Kura Sushi brand offers more than 500 locations across Japan, Taiwan and the United States. From nigiri, specialty cold and hot rolls to crispy rice, ramen and desserts, they offer a variety of dishes for every guest to enjoy – all enhanced by the revolving sushi experience!

“Kura Sushi brings healthy and authentic Japanese fare and a completely unique dining atmosphere to our already diverse lineup of restaurant, retail and entertainment destinations here at Arsenal Yards,” said Ryan Feinberg, VP Leasing Wilder. “As Kura Sushi continues to expand throughout the US, we’re thrilled about their arrival right here in Watertown, and look forward to having our residents and guests alike enjoy the unparalleled revolving sushi experience we know they will love!”

Serving as the primary conveyor belt delivering sushi throughout the restaurant, Kura’s Revolving Sushi Bar snakes through the dining area with an array of sushi offerings, each protected by the patented Mr. FreshTM ventilated sushi lid that offers plate-tracking technology to ensure every dish is fresh and delicious from belt to table. Positioned above the Revolving Sushi Bar, the Express Belt allows guests to order specific plates from the 140 plus menu offerings using a touch panel tablet so they can enjoy their favorite dishes made-to-order. Set at every table, the Bikkura Pon Prize System complements the lively and unique environment, which registers the number of plates disposed and in return plays fun animations and dispenses prizes.

“We are thrilled to be opening our first Kura Revolving Sushi Bar location in greater Boston at Arsenal Yards,” said Lauren Murakami, Kura Sushi USA spokesperson. “We look forward to serving this community and bringing our technology-driven dining experience to the city of Watertown. Guests can look forward to our two-layered conveyor belt system, which entails a revolving sushi bar and express belt for made-to orders, over 140 authentic Japanese dishes made with fresh, high-quality ingredients, our Bikkura Pon prize system, where guests receive prizes by eating sushi, and the newest addition to our restaurants – robots! Kurabots assist our servers by delivering drinks and condiments to your table.”
